
is a respected ophthalmologist with over 51 years of experience. A 1964 West Lafayette High School graduate, he went on to graduate from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1971. An esteemed leader, he was honored to be selected as the president of West Lafayette’s student council and president of his medical school class. Affectionately known as Dr. Bob, he served as Chief Ophthalmology Resident at the Cleveland Clinic in 1974-1975 and spent four years at Arnett Clinic from 1975-79. During this time, he also served in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps from 1971-1983. In 1982, he studied laser surgery at Stanford University. He founded the Williamson Eye Institute in 1979 and practiced there until his retirement in 2021. Dr. Bob and his family’s legacy will live on through the Williamson Family Library at West Lafayette Junior-Senior High School.
